"Seen It All and Done the Rest" First Book Title for Club
We had a wonderful time yesterday! The conversation was personal, insightful, smart and funny. We talked about ourselves, the different types of books we enjoyed and what we hope to achieve in the book club. The food and wine added to the delight of the day. The weather was great too!
Our first book will be Peal Cleage's "Seen It All and Done the Rest".
Synopsis of the book:
Renowned actress Josephine Evans lives a dream life among the international cognoscenti of Europe--an African American diva defying all the conventions--until war and political unrest shatter her idyll, and turn her from expatriate to exile. But back in America, yearning for the glamorous life she lost, Josephine will discover extraordinary new friends, learn what is truly worth living for, and take on the role she was destined to play, in the place she was always meant to be.
On April 26 at 2pm, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta will host their 13th Annual Literary Luncheon featuring Pearl Cleage at the Minneapolis Market Square. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet the author and to ask her questions about the book and/or her writing style. It will also be an opportunity for a book signing. The tickets are $50. Contact me more details.
